preliminary preparation
Before changing the water in the calorimeter, be sure to be well prepared. Turn off the power of the calorimeter first to ensure safe operation and avoid the risk of electric shock. At the same time, prepare clean distilled or deionized water, because this kind of water is pure and can effectively avoid impurities from causing damage to the instrument. Also prepare a clean rag and a suitable container for replacing the old water and cleaning the surrounding area.
drainage operation
Find the water tank drain port of the calorimeter, usually clearly marked on the bottom or side of the instrument. Place the prepared container under the drain port, and then slowly open the drain valve to let the old water in the tank slowly drain. During the drainage process, pay attention to observe the water flow. If the drainage is not smooth, it may be that the drain port is blocked, and it needs to be cleaned in time to prevent water overflow. After the water is completely drained, close the drain valve.
Clean water tank
After the old water is drained, simply clean the water tank. Gently wipe the inner wall of the water tank with a clean rag to remove residual scale and impurities. Be gentle when wiping to avoid scratching the inner wall of the water tank and affecting the service life of the instrument. After cleaning, check the drain again to ensure that there is no debris blockage.

Water addition operation
Add prepared distilled or deionized water to the water tank. When adding water, use a clean measuring tool to precisely control the amount of water. The amount of water needs to be within the scale range marked on the water tank. Too much or too little will affect the measurement accuracy of the calorimeter. During the process of adding water, pour it slowly to prevent water from splashing to other parts of the instrument. After adding water, cover the tank to ensure a good seal.
follow-up inspection
After the water addition is completed, re-connect the power supply of the calorimeter and turn on the instrument for short-term operation test. Observe whether the instrument starts normally, whether there is water leakage, abnormal sound, etc. If everything is normal, it means that the water change operation is successful; if there is a problem, turn off the power immediately, re-check the water change steps, and troubleshoot the cause of the failure.
Mastering the water change method of the calorimeter can not only ensure the normal operation of the instrument, but also prolong its service life, providing a reliable guarantee for accurate measurement.
