Preparation before cleaning

Before cleaning the oxygen bomb of the calorimeter, make sure that the instrument is powered off and the oxygen bomb is in a cool state to avoid burns. Prepare special cleaning tools, such as soft brushes, clean wipes, and cleaning solutions that meet the requirements, often used as neutral detergent solutions. Avoid the use of highly corrosive reagents to prevent damage to the oxygen bomb components.

Disassembly and preliminary cleaning

Carefully disassemble the detachable parts of the oxygen bomb, such as electrodes, oxygen-filled nozzles, etc., and place them in a clean and flat place. Use a soft brush to gently brush off the dust and residues attached to the surface of the oxygen bomb and parts. For stubborn stains, dip a small amount of cleaning solution and wipe them, paying attention to moderate strength to avoid scratching the surface of the parts.

Deep cleaning of key parts

The inside of the cartridge and the sealing part of the oxygen bomb are the focus of cleaning. Use a clean wipe cloth to dip in the cleaning solution and carefully wipe the inner wall of the cartridge to ensure that there is no residue. For the sealing part, be careful to clean it to avoid damaging the seal and affecting the air tightness of the oxygen bomb. If there is any oil stain, you can use a mild organic solvent to wipe it, and then dry it with a dry cloth.

Rinse and dry

After preliminary and deep cleaning, rinse the bomb and parts with distilled water to remove residual cleaning solution. After rinsing, place the bomb and parts in a well-ventilated place to dry naturally, or use clean compressed air to dry to ensure no moisture remains and prevent parts from rusting.

Assembly and inspection

After the oxygen bomb and its components are completely dry, assemble them in the reverse order of disassembly. After assembly, carefully check whether the air tightness and electrode connection of the oxygen bomb are normal to ensure that the oxygen bomb can work normally and provide protection for the accurate measurement of the calorimeter.

Regularly cleaning the oxygen bomb of the calorimeter can not only ensure the accuracy of the measurement results, but also prolong the service life of the instrument, laying the foundation for the smooth development of the experimental work.
