Preparation

Before using the calorimeter for manual ignition, make sure that all parts of the instrument are connected normally and the power supply is stable. Check whether the pressure of the oxygen cylinder is sufficient to ensure the stable oxygen supply, and prepare the necessary consumables such as ignition wire and benzoic acid. In addition, carefully clean the oxygen bomb to ensure that there are no impurities left to avoid affecting the ignition effect.



Ignition wire installation

Fix one end of the ignition wire on the ignition electrode of the oxygen bomb, and connect the other end with an appropriate length to ensure that the ignition wire is in full contact with the benzoic acid sample. Note that the connection of the ignition wire should be firm to avoid loosening or falling off during the ignition process, which will affect the ignition success rate.

Sample placement

Put the prepared sample of benzoic acid into the oxygen bomb, ensuring that the sample is placed smoothly and in good contact with the ignition wire. Then, carefully place the oxygen bomb into the inner cylinder of the calorimeter and ensure that the oxygen bomb is tightly connected to the instrument.

Ignition operation

Close the protective door of the calorimeter, turn on the power supply of the instrument, and enter the manual ignition mode. Press the ignition button, the ignition device will be powered on, the ignition wire will start to heat up, and the benzoic acid sample will be ignited. During the ignition process, pay close attention to the running status of the instrument. If the ignition fails, follow the instrument prompts to check and re-operate the ignition steps.

After the ignition is successful, observe whether the data of the calorimeter is displayed normally to ensure the smooth progress of the experiment. After the experiment, clean the oxygen bomb and the inside of the instrument in time to prepare for the next use.
