First, check the external environment and basic settings

First, check the environment where the calorimeter is placed. At the same time, confirm that the power supply voltage is stable and meets the rated voltage requirements of the instrument. Voltage instability will cause abnormal operation of internal components of the instrument, which will lead to low measurement results. In addition, check the grounding of the instrument. The way the sample is handled and filled can also affect the measurement results. Sample drying treatment: ensure that the sample is fully dry. If the sample contains moisture, the evaporation of the moisture during combustion will absorb heat, resulting in a low measurement value. The sample can be placed in a drying oven, dried at standard temperature and time, and then weighed after cooling. Sample loading specification: When weighing the sample, strictly follow the weighing range required by the instrument to avoid too much or too little sample; when filling the sample, ensure that the sample is evenly distributed at the bottom of the crucible and does not exceed the edge of the crucible to prevent the sample from splashing during combustion, which will affect the combustion effect and measurement accuracy.

Fourth, troubleshoot the internal system failure of the instrument

If after the above steps are completed, the calorimeter still has a low problem, it is necessary to check the internal system failure of the instrument. Check the ignition system to see if the ignition wire is in good condition and the connection is firm. If the ignition wire is aging or in poor contact, it will lead to ignition failure or incomplete combustion, resulting in low measurement results. It is necessary to replace the ignition wire in time and ensure reliable connection. At the same time, check the circulating water system of the instrument to ensure that the circulating water flow is stable and the water temperature is constant. If the circulating water system fails, it will affect the heat transfer and lead to measurement deviation. It is necessary to clean the pipeline and check the water pump to ensure the normal operation of the circulating water system.
