calorimeters, as precision heat measurement instruments, play a key role in the fields of energy, chemical industry, etc., but they are inevitably scrapped during use. In-depth analysis of the reasons for their scrapping is of great significance to ensure experimental accuracy and reduce equipment costs.

The aging of the core components is the primary cause of scrapping. The heating system, temperature sensor and other core components of the calorimeter are in a high temperature and high load operation state for a long time. As the use time increases, the heating wire is prone to oxidation and fracture, and the sensitivity of the temperature sensor will also drop significantly. Once the performance of the core components decays to the point that it cannot meet the measurement accuracy requirements, the instrument can only be scrapped.

Improper operation accelerates equipment wear and tear. Some operators do not strictly follow the operating specifications. If the sample load exceeds the standard and the residual material of the instrument is not cleaned in time, it will lead to abnormal pressure inside the instrument and blockage of the pipeline. Long-term illegal operation will exacerbate the wear of components, greatly shorten the service life of the calorimeter, and even directly cause the equipment to be scrapped.

If the cleaning and calibration of the calorimeter is neglected for a long time, dust and impurities will erode the internal circuit and mechanical components, and calibration deviation will lead to measurement data distortion. When the instrument malfunctions frequently and the maintenance cost is too high, scrapping becomes an inevitable choice.

Environmental factors affect the stability of the equipment. Calorimeters have strict working environment requirements. If they are exposed to humidity, high temperature, and strong magnetic fields for a long time, the electronic components of the instrument are prone to moisture short circuit, and the metal parts will accelerate corrosion. Continuous interference from environmental factors will gradually destroy the performance of the instrument, eventually leading to scrap.

To understand the core reasons for the scrapping of the calorimeter, do a good job in daily standard operation and regular maintenance, in order to delay the process of equipment scrapping to the greatest extent and ensure the efficient development of experimental work.
