The calorimeter is the core equipment for detecting the calorific value of substances in the fields of energy, chemical industry, etc. Its detection accuracy is directly related to the experimental results and production safety. It is necessary to master the method of calibration. Here is a practical calibration process for you.

Appearance and basic parts inspection

First, do a comprehensive investigation of the appearance of the calorimeter, check whether the shell is damaged or deformed, whether the display screen is clear without blurry screen or garbled, and whether the buttons can trigger feedback normally. Then check the power cord and data cable to ensure that there is no aging or damage, and the interface connection is firm to avoid equipment failure due to line problems. This is the basis for ensuring the normal operation of the equipment.

Core function precision verification



The core calibration needs to focus on temperature control and measurement accuracy. First, the temperature stability calibration, start the calorimeter, set the constant temperature, record the time when the equipment reaches the set temperature, and observe the temperature fluctuation range during the constant temperature stage. If the fluctuation exceeds the allowable value of the equipment calibration, it indicates that there is an abnormality in the temperature control system. Second, the temperature measurement accuracy calibration, using a standard thermometer calibrated by metrology, is placed in a constant temperature water bath with the temperature measurement probe of the calorimeter, and the readings of the two are compared. The deviation needs to be controlled within the equipment accuracy standard. If the deviation is too large, the temperature measurement module needs to be calibrated.

Verification of repeatability and accuracy

Select the standard calorific value material, under the same experimental conditions, use the calorimeter to be calibrated to carry out 3-5 consecutive tests, and record the results of each test. If the deviation of multiple results is within the allowable error range of the equipment, it means that the calorimeter has good repeatability; if the deviation exceeds the standard, it is necessary to check the stirring system, ignition system and other components, check the fault and re-check until the accuracy requirements are met.

Auxiliary System Function Troubleshooting

The mixing system needs to operate smoothly, without jams or abnormal noises, to ensure uniform heat transfer; the ignition system needs to be able to trigger normally, and the ignition success rate needs to reach 100% to avoid affecting the experimental process due to ignition failure. At the same time, check the sealing performance of the oxygen bomb to ensure that there is no air leakage, and ensure the safety of the experiment and the accuracy of the data.

Mastering the above calibration methods can quickly determine the quality of the calorimeter, ensure that the equipment is always in accurate operation, and lay a solid foundation for the detection work.
