Preparation before operation: First, make sure that the vertical calorimeter is placed in a stable, dry and non-strong electromagnetic interference environment, turn on the power supply and preheat the instrument for 30 minutes, so that the equipment can reach a stable working state. At the same time, prepare the samples to be tested, standard benzoic acid, ignition wire, oxygen and other consumables, check whether the oxygen bomb is in good condition, and ensure that there is no leakage and no damage.
Sample loading: accurately weigh an appropriate amount of sample to be tested, generally controlled at 0.8-1 grams, and put the sample into the crucible. Place the crucible smoothly on the crucible rack of the oxygen bomb, carefully connect the ignition wire, and note that the two ends of the ignition wire should be firmly fixed to avoid contact with the crucible wall. Then, slowly fill the oxygen bomb with oxygen, the pressure should reach 2.8-3 MPa, and the oxygenation time should be maintained for about 30 seconds to ensure sufficient oxygen.
Instrument parameter settings: Turn on the instrument power supply and enter the operation interface. According to the sample characteristics and test requirements, set appropriate parameters, such as inner cylinder water volume, ignition temperature, test time, etc. Parameter settings need to strictly refer to the instrument manual and sample test standards to ensure the accuracy of test results.
Test process: Carefully put the oxygen bomb filled with the sample into the inner cylinder of the calorimeter and cover the inner cylinder. Click the "Start Test" button to automatically enter the test state. During the test process, closely observe the operation of the instrument. If there is an abnormal alarm, immediately stop the test to investigate the cause of the failure.
Data recording and processing: After the test is completed, the instrument will automatically display and store the test data. Record key data, such as temperature rise, heat capacity, etc., process the data according to relevant formulas and standards, and obtain results such as sample heat generation.
After operation: After the test, turn off the power of the instrument, remove the oxygen bomb, release the residual oxygen, clean and organize the oxygen bomb, inner cylinder and other components, and properly store the consumables to prepare for the next operation.
By mastering the above operation steps and strictly following the specifications, you can skillfully operate the vertical calorimeter and accurately complete the calorific value measurement of various samples.
