In the coal detection work, the coal calorimeter is the core equipment for accurately measuring the calorific value, and the drainage operation is a key part to ensure its stable operation. Improper drainage can easily lead to instrument failure and affect the detection accuracy. The following is a detailed introduction to the drainage method of the coal calorimeter.

First, the preparation work before drainage

Before draining, be sure to cut off the power supply of the calorimeter. Wait until the instrument is completely cooled to room temperature to avoid the risk of high temperature burns or electric shock. At the same time, prepare a clean water receiving container, a clean rag, and a matching wrench and other tools to ensure the smooth operation of the drainage operation. In addition, carefully read the instrument manual to clarify the specific location of the drain port. There are differences in the layout of the drain port of different models of calorimeters. Confirmation in advance can avoid operation errors.

Second, the core drainage steps

1. Locate the drain port: The drain port of the coal calorimeter is usually located at the bottom or back of the instrument, and some models will be equipped with a clear drain valve logo. After finding the drain port, check whether there is any accumulation of debris around the valve. If so, clean it up with a rag first to prevent impurities from blocking the valve and affecting the drainage.

2. Slowly open the valve: Use a suitable wrench, gently twist the drain valve, follow the principle of "slow first and then stable", slowly open the valve, and let the accumulated water gradually discharge. During the opening process, pay attention to observe the water flow. If the water flow suddenly becomes large, you can appropriately adjust the valve opening to prevent splashing.

3. Thoroughly drain the stagnant water: When draining, keep the container connected to the water, and wait for the water flow to change from large to small until it stops completely, indicating that the stagnant water has been drained. At this time, do not close the valve immediately, but gently shake the instrument to ensure that the residual moisture inside is completely discharged to avoid rust caused by the residual water.

4. Close the valve and check: After confirming that the stagnant water is drained, close the drain valve in time and wipe the remaining water stains around the valve with a rag. Then, check whether there is any leakage around the drain. If any leakage is found, re-tighten the valve to ensure a good seal.

III. Finishing and maintenance after drainage

After the drainage is completed, properly dispose of the wastewater in the receiving container and do not dump it at will. Subsequently, clean the outside of the calorimeter to keep the instrument tidy. At the same time, regularly check the sealing performance of the drainage valve. If the valve is found to be aging or loose, replace the accessories in time. It is recommended to carry out a comprehensive drainage maintenance on the calorimeter every quarter, which can not only prolong the service life of the instrument, but also ensure the accuracy of the test results.

Mastering the correct drainage method of the coal calorimeter can not only avoid damage to the instrument due to water accumulation, but also ensure the accuracy and reliability of the detection data. Strictly following the above steps can easily complete the drainage work and lay a solid foundation for the coal detection work.
